I love that my kids aren't afraid to hold bugs--as long as they keep them outside!

A week or so ago the kids and I read this book and realized we had never seen a gray ladybug with black spots.  This morning we found one crawling on the sidewalk!  Isn't it neat?

If you ever come across any of the books like this one, I suggest you get them!  Ben's mom gave the kids a handful of them and they are great for school time or just to look at! 

Weekend Getaway!

Ben went on a fishing trip at the end of last week so the kids and I packed up on Friday and went to WV to visit Grammy!  We really enjoy our trips down there--so relaxing!  I finished a book and started another, we had good food, and lots of outside time!

It's funny how wonderful it is to get away from the internet, tv, and phones!!

Oh, and that water from the falls?  It is FREEZING!!!  So much that I can barely stand in it for more than a minute!  Wyatt spent a lot of time there and I have no idea how!!

I couldn't find my keys earlier.  I just walked in the living room and saw this.  Can you see them?

It's a good thing he can't get outside and into the real car!

Motivation, Bribery...

Whatever you want to call it, it works in our house!

On Saturday I picked up a Wii game from the Redbox while I was grocery shopping.  I let the kids play it yesterday afternoon while Ben fished and I worked on laundry (and napped!).

Last night I told them that their school work would be sitting on the dining table (we're still finishing math, handwriting, and phonics) and that they couldn't touch the TV until it was finished.

I woke up this morning, came downstairs, and there they both sat working!!  I couldn't believe my eyes!

So, does "motivation" work for your kids?

I never imagined that I would marry such an amazing guy, and I feel so blessed to have him as the father to my kids.  

He's a great dad and they love him so much!!

 He's so patient (even if the kid pictured isn't his!)

 He's fun!!

 He loves to teach them new things

 He's affectionate and loving (so important!!)

 He always puts family first--and that makes me so happy!

Happy Father's Day Ben!!  I love you more than you'll ever know!

Works For Me Wednesday!

For a while I've tried to find what works best for all of those "little" freebies I get.  One day I decided to hang this shoe organizer inside the door of my pantry and it has worked wonderfully!
